Mango Ultra High Density Planting

What is Mango Ultra High Density Planting?

Mango Ultra High Density Planting (UHDP) is a precision horticulture technique where mango trees are planted at very close spacing (typically 3 m × 2 m or 3 m × 1 m), allowing up to 674 to 1600 plants per acre. This method enhances productivity, reduces the gestation period, and supports mechanized operations.

Why Choose UHDP for Mango?

UHDP increases tree population while maintaining plant health through canopy management, fertigation, and regular pruning. It ensures early commercial harvests, uniform fruiting, and more efficient use of land, water, and nutrients.

Higher Yield per Acre

With up to 3 times more trees than traditional systems, this method significantly improves yield per acre, allowing farmers to maximize profit even from small land holdings.

Early Harvest

Pruning and fertigation practices induce early flowering and fruiting, enabling commercial harvest as early as the third year, reducing the waiting period drastically.

Efficient Resource Use

Controlled spacing and scientific practices help save water, fertilizers, and land while enhancing productivity—making it highly suitable for resource-limited farmers.
